It’s Time for A Change,

The prophet Isaiah tells the reader in chapter 43, that “God is doing a new thing!” Here at Saint James A.M.E. Church of Douglasville, Georgia, we are believing God for His newness, His freshness of the Spirit, His healings, His deliverance, His empowering, His new opportunities to serve the surrounding community, His new opportunities to love our neighbor, as well as ourselves.

If you have not notice, God is empowering His chosen people. God is moving on the hearts and mind of those, who have chosen to turn away from their sin and wreck-less way of life. He promised in His Word, that He would heal our land and forgive our sins, if we turned back unto Him in obedience. “And He is not a God that He should lie, nor the son of man, that He should change His mind!”

What is God asking of us specifically? God desires for us to ‘stop doing wrong and learn to do right, seek justice, encourage the oppressed, defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case for the widow. Afterwards, God invites us to His ‘table of love’ for a time of reasoning, so that He can blot out our transgressions. If we want to eat the best from the land, if we want the best that God has to offer, then our obedience to His commands are mandatory!

What I love the most, is that our God does not have a special person! He does not have a big I and a little u! Please understand, even though our sins be as red as blood, God can and will make us, spiritually, white as snow!

The question is, are you willing to be one of God’s Elect/Chosen?

God’s Speed,

Rev. Dr. Keenan D. Hale, Sr.
