Rev. LeRoy Ladson, Jr. is the son of the late Mr. Leroy & Mrs. Berneta Ladson, Sr.
He is the father of Mr. Quentin O'Brien Ladson and the Godfather of Master Benjamin Allen Gill. He received his primary education in the Roosevelt public school system and after graduating from high school he enlisted in the United States Army where he spent six years in active military duty and received an Honorable Discharge at the rank of Sergeant in 1984.
Rev. Ladson started his journey into ministry in 1988, when he answered the call under the Pastoral leadership of Rev. Simon P. Bouie at his home church of Bethel A.M.E.C. in Freeport, N.Y. He preached his trial sermon from Philippians 3:13 titled,
"Losing All Things & Gaining Everything." He later attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia and attained a Bachelor’s Degree. He continued on to Turner Theological Seminary (TTS) at The Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC), also in Atlanta, and received a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Care & Counseling.
Rev. Ladson is currently an Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. His pastoral ministry has taken him to many locations including, The Sandy Grove Circuit in Warrenton, Georgia (1993-1994), Bethany A.M.E.C., Winder, Georgia (1994-1996), Bethany A.M.E.C., Parkesburg, Pa. (1996-1997), Metropolitan A.M.E.C. Philadelphia, Pa. (1997-1999), St. Stephen A.M.E.C. Harlem, N.Y. (1999-2004), Bethel A.M.E.C. Stamford, Ct. (2004-2015), Bethel A.M.E.C. Westbury , N.Y. (2016-2019), Duresville A.M.E. C. Macon, Georgia (2019- 2020), and Saint James A. M. E. C. Douglasville, Ga. (2020- Present).
Additonally, he is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated and his favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5,6 which reads "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and lean not to your own understanding. But in all things, acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path."
